Toon tour is dream for comic

COMEDIAN Ross Noble revealed to the Chronicle today one of his biggest ambitions is to do a tour with a difference – around the Toon.

The award-winning stand-up, who grew up in Cramlington, said he wanted to play a series of venues in Newcastle as a mini-tour.

“I’ve had this idea for ages of actually doing a tour of Newcastle,” revealed Ross, 31, who is playing five nights at Newcastle City Hall in October.

“I’d quite like to play the Live Theatre one night, the Playhouse (Northern Stage) the next, then the Tyne Theatre, then the Theatre Royal, then City Hall and then the Arena – and then St James’ Park!

“I think it would be great to do something like that. I might, it’s down to me. I’ve got so many things like that, that I think will be brilliant to do.”

Ross is at the City Hall from October 23 to 27 in his new show Nobleism, and two days earlier has a gig in Liverpool, which will be broadcast simultaneously at Vue cinemas.

He said one of the reasons for doing five nights at the City Hall as opposed to one at the Arena was he could spend more time in Newcastle, and added: “One night at the Arena I don’t think would be as good.”
