The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Gala Theatre, Durham
IT’S been 20 years since three American actors first presented this play at the Edinburgh Festival . . . and it’s still going strong.
The show is a riotous laugh-a-minute romp through the Bard’s plays which had the audience entertained from start — Romeo and Juliet in 12 minutes — to finish . . . three increasingly short versions of Hamlet, with a backwards version thrown in for good measure. Pure brilliance!
