IT is one of the most successful musicals ever made and last week Cats prowled into the North with spine-tingling effect.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning production, which first showed on the London stage almost 30 years ago, thrilled a packed audience at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal.
Based on a book of poems by TS Eliot, it tells of the characters of each animal including the tragic Memory, a role Elaine Paige made famous. The musical is in Newcastle until February 16.
