Oscar winning film producer David Parfitt returns to his native North East on Sunday for the first screening of his new film, I Capture the Castle.
The film, based on the classic novel by 101 Dalmatians author Dodie Smith is being shown at the Customs House in South Shields to raise funds for the University of Sunderland Development Trust.
Mr Parfitt, who won an Oscar for the international hit Shakespeare in Love, and I Capture the Castle director Tim Fywell are attending the screening on Sunday evening and will take part in a question and answer session afterwards.
I Capture the Castle, on general release in May, features British film newcomer Romola Garai as well as Bill Nighy, Tara Fitzgerald and Sinead Cusack.
Mr Parfitt grew up in Sunderland.
