Ant picks up a sparkler!

Ant McPartlin

Geordie star Ant McPartlin is set to ask girlfriend Lisa Armstrong to marry him.

Ant, 29, reportedly toured a string of top jewellers in London to find the perfect engagement ring to give his sweetheart this week.

He finally settled on a £16,000 square diamond sparkler from Tiffany and is planning to pop the question on bended knee during a romantic break in a mystery location.

Ant flew off with 28-year-old Lisa, his girlfriend of 10 years, for the two-week sunshine holiday last weekend.

He finished a run of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV earlier this month.

He and Lisa, a make-up artist from Oxford, have been together since their days in pop music. They met while Ant and Dec were on a UK tour, performing as PJ and Duncan. Lisa's band Deuce joined them on tour. They fell in love and have lived together for the last five years in Chiswick, West London.

A pal of Lisa's said: "Lisa has been hassling Ant to marry her for years but he had always wanted to wait."

Declan Donnelly, 29, split last year from girlfriend Clare Buckfield.
