Ant to start a colony

Ant McPartlin with wife-to-be Lisa Armstrong

TV presenter Ant McPartlin is looking for a £1m family home after his long-time girlfriend accepted his proposal of marriage.

Make-up artist Lisa Armstrong, 28, burst into tears and kissed Ant when he popped the question on bended knee on holiday.

Now pals say the couple are hunting for a four-bedroomed house, suggesting they are keen to have children.

A spokesman for the ex-Byker Grove actor, who proposed on Tuesday, said: "No date has been set for the wedding.

"They are overjoyed and looking forward to the future."

A friend of Ant, 29, said: "He's been looking at property in west London for a few months and has told estate agents he wants a big family home.

"The properties he's been looking at are mainly semis with their own gardens and plenty of space."

Another source said: "Ant and Lisa are only just the right side of 30 and love children. I'm sure babies are on their mind."
