Evan's good for Jamie

Jamie Bell

Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell's (pictured right) heart is dancing with joy after finding love with an American actress.

The Sunday Sun can reveal that Jamie, 19, is dating Evan Rachel Wood, 17, the stunning young actress who starred opposite him in the epic video for Green Day's latest single Wake Me Up When September Ends.

The pair were required to get very cosy for the video, which tells the story of young childhood sweethearts who are torn apart when Jamie's character is sent to Iraq soon after enrolling in the Army.

Music fans will have seen Jamie and Evan kissing, cuddling and cavorting in the early scenes of the mini-film . . . and they clearly carried on wooing one another when the cameras stopped rolling!

An insider on feature film Dear Wendy, the film starring Jamie that's just opened in cinemas, revealed: "They started seeing each other after meeting on the set of the Green Day video and it seems to be going quite well.

"It was Thomas Vinterberg, the director of Dear Wendy, who spilled the beans on their relationship. I think they make a great couple, and they're both doing very well in their careers right now.

"But I wonder how they will get to see each other because they're both so busy.

"Jamie's only just finished filming in Glasgow and he's already gone to Iceland to start shooting the Clint Eastwood film Flags Of Our Fathers."

Making the music video clearly plucked at the heart strings of Evan, who shot to stardom in the gritty teenage thriller Thirteen.

She said: "It was really emotional. Everyone was in tears after this scene where we are both crying at the screen to each other. It was intense."

It's clear to see why Evan and Jamie make a good couple . . . they've both been involved in the entertainment industry since they were young children, but neither conform to the traditional image of tearaway child stars.

They may still be teenagers but both are joining the ranks of the Hollywood hot list, having spent several years rubbing shoulders with A list actors.

Jamie split from girlfriend Sheryl McNally, who lives on the same Teesside council estate as his mum and sister, in June 2003.

He was worried that fame was making it impossible to keep a relationship going.

He has often said how his love life has suffered because of his busy schedule, so he'll be over the moon to have found love once more.
