Jolie, 31, comes four places above her other-half, Hollywood heart-throb Brad Pitt, 43.

The Oscar-winning actress beat some of the world's most famous sex symbols, from Steve McQueen to Sophia Loren, in the top 100.

Elvis Presley is second in the poll conducted for Channel 4 . . . almost 30 years after his death.

Blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe is third, one place above Dreamgirls star Beyonce.

Brad Pitt is fifth followed by pneumatic videogame character Lara Croft . . . brought to life by Jolie in the Tomb Raider movies.

George Clooney, 45, is seventh and there is good news for pop princess Kylie Minogue, 38, following her split with Olivier Martinez . . . she is eighth.

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp, 43, makes ninth place, and Scarlett Johansson, 22, is tenth.
