Review: Condemned 2

THE original Condemned, where you played forensics expert Agent Ethan Thomas on the trail of brutal serial killers, was notable for its violent, grisly, bloody and memorably shocking gameplay.

So how do you follow that? Simple, make the sequel even MORE violent, grisly and bloody, with jump-out-of-your-seat shocks aplenty . . . welcome to Condemned 2.

Players once again take on the role of Ethan, now a former member of Metro City’s serial crimes unit after hitting the bottle to bury the demons in his past.

But his aimless, worthless existence is interrupted when he is called back to his former job to help track down his missing ex-partner.

The disturbing events from Ethan’s past have all but destroyed him, leaving him a drunken mess and fighting his inner demons throughout his one-man investigation into a sinister conspiracy.

Ethan will need to use anything and everything in his impressively created and atmospheric environment to survive as he unravels the mysteries shrouding a city bathed in darkness.

If you are familiar with the original Condemned then the gameplay will not come as much of a shock, even though some of the scenes still will.

However, as well as your handy forensic tools, there are some new weapons to get your hands on to help protect yourself from all that the dark streets can throw at you.

Although comparisons with Resident Evil and Silent Hill will obviously be made, Condemned 2: Bloodshot would be a decent buy, giving you many hours of frightening gameplay.
