THE son of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney is following in his father’s footsteps.
James McCartney will play Newcastle O2 Academy 2 on February 28.
Last October the musician played a handful of UK shows, playing anonymously under the name Light. His whereabouts were soon discovered by a tabloid newspaper who, unbeknown to James, were reviewing the show.
The newspaper raved about his performance, reporting that his 11-song set was “a mixture of full-throttle stormers and delicate acoustic numbers” and declared “James has a way with melody”. Tickets for the gig are £7. For more information visit www.james mccartney.com
Local Natives play Newcastle Academy 2 on Saturday, March 6, as part of their first-ever UK headline tour, following their involvement in the hugely successful NME Radar Tour late last year. The tour coincides with the release of Airplanes on March 1, the new single from their debut album, Gorilla Manor.
